Our well-rounded, holistic approach to education drives achievement and results in accolades for our schools and our students.

Our schools and the young women who attend them have many accolades to celebrate. Here are a few seals that represent achievements, but they are truly just a small glimpse into all that we have accomplished together and individually at the Sisters of St. Joseph Schools.

  • The school received the Rafael Cordero Award given by San Juan Archdiocese, Catholic Schools Superintendence for our commitment to young students education.

  • Fontbonne speech team earned several awards from competitions at Yale, Harvard, Princeton and Columbia Universities, as well as national competitions in Sacramento, Ca. and Salt Lake City, Ut.
  • Fontbonne Senior named a Commended Scholar in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program
  • Fontbonne Senior named a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar
  • Only Catholic high school in New York City to implement the AP Capstone Program offered from The College Board 
  • Partners with Brown University to promote STEM education for girls

  • Students are consistently among those recognized by The National Merit Scholarship Program, National Achievement Scholarship Program for Black Americans, and The National Hispanic Recognition Program.
  • All students receive the New York State Regents Diploma.
  • 92% of the Class of 2017 will receive the Regents diploma with Advanced Designation, the highest award that New York state gives.
  • With 29 competitive teams, our athletic program is the largest high school athletic program for girls in the City of NY, with teams that have won numerous state, city, and diocesan championships.

  • Only All Girls School in NY State with a Robotics team.

  • 2017 Senior Danielle Patterson selected as a McDonald’s All American for the 2017 All American Girls Basketball Game.
  • TMLA students honored with 20 awards in the 2017 Scholastic Art and Writing Competition.
  • TMLA 2017 seniors Molly Breslin, Samantha Merino and Gabby Vega were honored at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for their Gold Key achievements in the 2017 Scholastic Art Awards.
  • TMLA’s JV Cheerleaders are Brooklyn/Queens Champions 2016 and 2017.
  • TMLA Tennis is the 2017 Brooklyn/Queens Champions for the fifth consecutive year.
